In September, Arts Rock in Blowing Rock as we celebrate everything from storytelling to basket weaving, writing to singing. Join us for the opening of Blowing Rock Art & History Museum’s newest exhibit, various concerts, Art in the Park, and weekly presentations at Edgewood Cottage.   And, don't miss this month's Mitford-themed events!

David McCollum leads the program with musicians interpreting the stunning and colorful art of Wes Waugh, Jim Ruff, and Norma Suddreth. Alpacas on Apple Hill Farm**Weaving Demo at Edgewood Cottage. Brianne Harris raises alpacas and angora goats at Apple Hill Farm and uses their wool to make yarn. She's bringing a spinner and weaver for demonstrations on how to turn their wool into works of art. Free. 10am-5pm

 

Art in the ParkArt in the Park at the American Legion building on Wallingford Street. Installment 5 of 6 in this monthly show will include 90 artisans of various skill. Meet potters, painters, weavers, glassworkers, jewelers, photographers, and more, and take the opportunity to speak with them about their work and processes. Works also for sale. Free. 10am-5pm.

Tom Robbins, who spent his boyhood in Blowing Rock, is returning to his hometown to talk about his newest book, Tibetan Peach Pie: A True Account of an Imaginative Life.
