Mountain Traditions: The Sheets Family. The Sheets Family plays traditional Appalachian music in a Carter Family
style. They feature exquisite vocals, guitar, clawhammer banjo, fiddle, and flatfoot dancing. Performances have included The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the National Folklife Festival, the Library of Congress, and the Blue Ridge Heritage Center on the Blue Ridge Parkway, as well as frequent appearances on Mountain Home Music. At Moses Cone Memorial Park on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Celebrate the rich history of Appalachian culture with the National Park Service and the Southern Highland Craft Guild during our 7th Annual Heritage Day. Come learn to folk dance, listen to local musical artists and storytellers, and take a tour of the Cone Estate. Also enjoy cider press demonstrations, old time folk games, and other activities for children. All activities and entertainment are free!

The White Top Mountain Band.
White Top Mountain is near the intersection of North Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia. This small Virginia community has long produced great old-time music. (Eleanor Roosevelt used to visit there to hear good fiddling.) The tradition of excellence continues with the White Top
Mountain Band. They feature old-time fiddling, banjo playing, and singing. This spring they were in Australia; this summer, for the first time, they'll be on Mountain Home Music. Tommy and Tracy Smith, from Boone, will also
share a few tunes. Admission.

Presented by the Blowing Rock Jazz Society. General Admission is $15 for non-members, $5 for students and FREE to BRJS Members. Food and beverages for your enjoyment may be purchased at the Meadowbrook Inn.
