While the most vibrant and consistent color can be found at elevations around 3000 feet, there is still a lot of autumn beauty to be found at nearby elevations. Today was again overcast, but even a dim day can’t hide the warmth of autumn maples. This stand can be found behind the Harris Teeter grocery store in Boone. Many of the younger maples in the immediate area are showing this kind of color right now.
