North Carolina's oldest travel attraction since 1933. Short scenic walk includes views of Grandfather Mountain, Table Rock, and Hawksbill. Also enjoy a small garden waterfall, observation tower and unique gift shops. Open daily April-December. January, February and March open weekends only, weather permitting. Located on Highway 321 South across from Green Park Inn. Handicap accessible.

HAYES PERFORMING ARTS CENTER
The Mariam and Robert Hayes Performing Arts Center is a year round facility that is the home of the Blowing Rock Stage Company. The Stage Company produces professional theatre, develops new plays, and teaches the next generation of theatre performers and artists through a variety of outreach programs. In addition to live theatre, the facility presents a variety of musical, comedy, and dance performances as well as a classic film series. The center also offers a gathering place for civic and cultural activities as well as a resource for local commercial interests with its meeting facilities and hosting capabilities.

MOSES CONE MEMORIAL PARK
MOSES CONE MEMORIAL PARK
The Moses Cone estate was established at the turn of the 20th century. Today, the park is one of the most visited on the Blue Ridge Parkway. These 3500 acres are home to 25 miles of carriage trails, Bass Lake & Trout Lake, the Cone Cemetary, and Flat Top Manor. The Manor houses the Parkway Craft Center, featuring work by the Southern Highlands Craft Guild. Upstairs tours of the 20-room mansion are conducted on weekends throughout the summer and fall, and crafters can be found on the front porch demonstrating their skills in the summer months. The carriage trails are well maintained and multipurpose; along the way you may meet horseback riders, joggers, or in the winter, cross-country skiiers. The house and craft center are open daily from April or May through November.

The NC High Country’s 1st Ski Area. Skiing since 1962. 2 Quad Chairlifts, 1 Double Chairlift, 1 Conveyor Lift, 1 Handle Pull Lift. 10 slopes including 2 Terrain Parks. Season: Friday before Thanksgiving through the first Sunday in April. Open 7 days a week. Night skiing beginning first Friday in December. Refrigerated Outdoor Ice Arena w/ 3 sessions daily @ Noon, 2:30 & 7pm. 2200 Sets of Ski Equipment rentals, 450 Snowboard rentals, clothing rentals, & helmet rentals. Home of the French Swiss Ski College, the Southeast’s largest independent Ski School, offering daily group and private lessons & the SKIwee Childrens Program. Facilities include: 46,000 sq ft Bavarian-style base lodge is smoke-free w/ wireless internet, Restaurant, Ski Shop, Gift Shop, Nursery for Ages 1 to 4, Lockers, Video Game Room, Meeting Rooms, & 200 foot observation deck. Located off I-81, exit 17 between Bristol and Wytheville. Barter Theatre, The State Theatre of Virginia, is located in the historic and charming town of Abingdon. Barter Theatre offers dramas, comedies, musicals, and more all year round! The theatre's alumni included Hume Cronyn, Patricia Neal, Fritz Weaver, Ernest Borgnine, Gregory Peck, and Ned Beatty. While visiting Barter, be sure to stop in The Cafe' at Barter Stage II for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

Be inspired by the views from the highest point in the Blue Ridge and escape to a nature sanctuary of global importance. Cross the famous Mile High Swinging Bridge, photograph native wildlife in natural habitats and hike some of the South's finest alpine trails. The Orchard at Altapass is a hundred year old historic apple orchard directly on The Blue Ridge Parkway at Mile Marker 328.3 near Spruce Pine, NC. A preservation project, it specializes in family entertainment and activities, featuring old time mountain apples, storytelling, hayrides, live local music on weekends, and demonstrations by local artists. Orchard made fudge, books, and naturalists activities. It hosts groups of all kinds. Open late May-October, 7 days a week.

Wild West family theme park featuring a three-mile, steam-powered train ride through the North Carolina mountains. Shopping, live entertainment, amusement rides and a petting zoo.
