Price Lake and Julian Price Memorial Park
Julian Price Memorial Park can also be found on the Blue Ridge Parkway just 5 miles from Blowing Rock. Here you can camp, hike, canoe, fish, or simply stand and take in the beauty to be found at Price Lake.
Our State Magazine recently featured Price Lake Loop trail, noting the beauty and quiet presence of the place. Wildlife is commonly seen, and evidence of beavers and otters can usually be found. The lake is a result of a dam and you can find beautiful rock work on the spillway. At 3,400 feet, the surrounding oak and rhododendron forest provide a spectacular show, with deep greens and vibrant rusts and yellows. On a still Fall day, the colors reflect perfectly in the water below, creating stunning images.
